The Chase

I woke up running.

I don't know why I was running but I was doing it franticaly. It was a weird feeling because it felt like I knew where I was running to but I didn't know where exactly that was. Something was leading me to safety. "Was it my own intution?  Why were those people chasing me though?", I asked myself.  I wish I knew. It didn't seem like they would stop chasing me any time soon.

I was somewhere in the middle east. I could tell because it looked just like how the marketplaces in the middle east looks on tv shows and movies. Also, their clothes gave it right away. It was a marketplace crowded with people and it honestly stills puzzles me how I was able to run through it. There were venders and buyers yelling at me for bumping in to them or knocking over their stands as I made my way through them to get away from them. I went from one end of the market place faster than I have ever ran before. But I had no choice. I couldn't let them capture me. Although I didn't know why.

As my sore feet and legs -that were ready to give up- neared a corner I looked back and my persecutors seemed like they were nowhere in sight. That was the opportunity I needed to try to lose them. With the help of the adrenaline pumping through my veins, my brain makes the impromptu decision to make a sharp turn at the next corner. My body reacts by listening to my brain and as I make that sharp turn in an attempt to lose them I almost ran into a woman. I was able to dodge her but not enough because I still felt the fabric of her long black garments brush against my body. And that's when it happened.

Right after I felt the fabric of her long dark dress everthing started to suddenly go in slow motion. I turned around to see who I had run into and I see the most beautiful but mysterious-looking woman. Dressed in all dark with long black curly hair. As soon as we lock eyes I get a weird feeling. Sort of like an epiphany that I'm still trying to figure out what it was about. She looked like if she was surprised that I was able to see her too. But it was meant to happen. Like we were supposed to cross paths and it was inevitable. It was like an awakening. All of that happened in what seemed like a second that lasted forever. But after that, I felt safe.

Nobody was chasing me anymore. Everything goes dark and I'm awake.
